Re: Aria drumkit

I can't tell you the year, but since they seem to be a Rogers Big R "clone" of sorts I'm assuming they are late 70's early 80's.

Re: Contemplating selling my only 2 vintage snare drums

Hey Rob, me again. Maybe you could angle your vocal mic so it's more in rejection to your snare, like by lowering the boom arm a bit and angling the mic on a slightly upward angle and maybe swap it...

Re: Newbie who just inherited Premier set from Uncle for son.

Yes, more pics would help. From what I can tell these are early 70's and might be a B303 model (pictured). Pictures of the inside of the drums would also help (some have african mahogany inside,...

Re: Contemplating selling my only 2 vintage snare drums

I'm kind of surprised that you find the Acro too loud for pub gigs. I use a Ludwig Standard all the time in tiny bars and it's probably the quietest snare I own when tuned down a little bit and...

Re: Help me identify this 80s PREMIER drum

Yes this set is made in England, It fell into Premiers intermediate range at the time, but are a really good "bang for the buck". A pic of the badge would help clarify. Also, I couldn't really tell...

Re: Help me identify this 80s PREMIER drum

Hi Udenied! The APK/XPK lines are very confusing at best, but after digging a bit I'm "guess-timating" these are APK MK III from 1994 or later. It's hard to tell from your pics if it's a wrapped or...

Re: Old Ludwig’s

Are the floor tom's bottom lugs like my first picture? That would be a very strange (and destructive) mod.. Is the tom mount like my second pic or does each tom have a "tube"? It does sound like...

Re: Aquamarine Premier Set Found: Value?

THis, pretty much, unfortunately, but the value of the LM 400, Sabian ride and Zildjian hats surely adds (financial) value. Supras are only going up in value. The days of 50 buck Supra's all day long...

Re: Pearl drum set year

I agree. Pearl started offering COB snares in the early 70's. I'm pretty sure it's chrome-over-steel.

Re: Vintage Paiste 602

The more I dig, the more I keep coming across info on Dyna-Star being a "stencil" name UFIP used along with Dixon Dyna-Star & Dyna Star Superior. I wonder if there is a connection. Here's a link to...

Re: Trying to Identify Pearl kit

What looks like a photo in my reply is a link to a .pdf. There's a button in the upper right hand corner that says "pop-out" if you hover the cursor over it.

Re: Beltone Snare by Pearl?

Re: Vintage/older sabian model help !

Really hard to tell from a pic...my speculation was based around how the edge of the cymbal looks against the table, but it's just speculation. The hammering looks gorgeous on this one btw!
