Re: HELP! Ludwig gullwing spur needed.

I had a pair all boxed up for Julia, and then she let me know that she was fortunate enough that someone found her lost spur, so she's all set. And her first paying gig went well.

Re: Coolest watch ever

Of course a drummer needs a watch! How else are you going to get that pizza delivered to the next customer within twenty minutes? ;)

Re: Coolest watch ever

Cool, yes. But worth $3500, I don't know. Even being a fine, Swiss watch, I'll bet everyone here could find a better way to spend $3500. I'd spend that money on a couple wood-shelled Dyna's before...

Re: VDF members meet @ CT Drum Show at Big Blue ?

J!m,

I thought Gregg Bissonette's clinic was very entertaining, filled with a lot of humor and great drumming, but when he singled you out of the crowd as resembling his boss, Sir Ringo, I didn't...

Re: Rogers Logo Decal

Dan,

Just curious, buy why the preference for the decals? I've been using the die-cut logos for a while because they age better. As the decals age, the clear film in between the letters starts...

Re: R.O.C. Drums - Remember them?!!

I'm 5'8". Maybe I could hit that double row of toms without getting off the throne, but definitely not the cymbals.

Re: Ludwig snare in Butcher Block wrap???

Mike,

Was the Ludwig Butcher Block wrap the same as Rogers' Butcher Block?
If it was, I have a 16" Rogers FT shell you can strip the wrap off and get a piece large enough to wrap a snare. You'd...

Re: 1941 Swing Sensation "Top Hat and Cane" Original

More like finding an abandoned, mint 1932 Duesenberg in someone's garage (I like car analogies). I've never seen a Top Hat & Cane set with original heads. The hat and cane on the bass head mimic...

Re: Aria drumkit

Those lugs are almost perfect copies of Rogers beavertail lugs, and that 1970's font on the logo supports the idea that these were indeed Big-R clones. Shells look really nice. I'd like to know...

Re: 1963 Rogers Holiday, Sky Blue Ripple

After the lengthy discussion we all had about that Blue Ripple Dyna, it's great to see the full kit you mentioned. Absolutely beautiful. I've seen only a few Blue Ripple singles with Beavertails,...

Re: Blue Ripple Dyna on eBay

I was almost starting to regret making the opening post and opening this rewrap "can of worms" until Ploughman chimed in with his expertise. Always value his opinion and I especially appreciate it...

I think I've seen those lugs before, but I have no idea who made them. Anybody know for sure?

Re: Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

Andrew,

It's a shame the badge has been tampered with, as it does slightly diminish the value, but as we know, the actual serial number only gives an approximate indication of manufacture date....

Re: Blue Ripple Dyna on eBay

Awwwh. How disappointing! So someone got hold of original, unused Blue Ripple and rewrapped this shell? Then the seller's not really being forthcoming or accurate when he states, "Only thing not...

Re: Ludwig Blue Oyster Pearl 12,13,16,20

Very nice! Funny to see the toms set up left-handed with the tone control knobs facing outward. I'd love to see those set up in the original double bass configuration, but good luck ever finding...

Re: Here's the second half of the previous post

Those Rogers beavertail lugs are late Fullerton tom lugs (Big R era with c-clips). Can't help with those T-rods, but they're not Rogers.

Oh, Come on Come on BEC, really? That's hilarious. Actually, I think that mis-translation is rather poetic and could be a very nice middle line of a haiku. With your huge popularity in Japan, maybe...

From the parts catalog showing the toe stop (item #39) separate from the screw which holds the strap (#38). I have the one-piece footboard also, but never found any practical use for the toe stop.
