Re: Rogers Question

Possibly, but not necessarily. I'd look for other indications. Changes to the vent grommet, the nails for the Rogers script and so forth. It looks as if you have drums from two differing eras there....

Re: WFL or Rogers

None of the above. Keep them both. Very different sounds from each kit.

Re: Rogers Mounts Needed

Ah, a very good correction on the part names. Thank you for that Mark. I've had that wrong for a long time. It's good to finally have the correct terms in mind.

Re: Rogers Mounts Needed

PS - I just got that mount straightened out today. That's why I hadn't advised you all earlier. I should mention with shame that vice-grips were used, but did no damage. it was the only thing I had...

Re: Percent of unmodified classic American kits left?

Based on what I've seen, hardly any are unmodified is some way, even if it is because the wrong rods or washers are on the drums. So many folks peeled off the hoops on the front of bass drums and...

Re: Rogers Mounts Needed

My bad on posting it outside boundaries Ludwig-dude.. Getting old I guess. Thanks for the angle information from Cam and Mark. Very helpful.

Blair,

It looks like I needed 75 degrees. However,...

Re: Rogers Mounts Needed

Hi Blair,

I'm not sure of the angle, but I'm guessing 60. It's for a 14x20 bass drum used either to hold the tom up between the top two lugs, or as a spur mount. Same angle either way. Also needs...

Re: Remo Classic Fit ...

I haven't tried those heads yet, but did try the Vintage A heads on a couple of Rogers sets. They seemed OK on the 14x18 bass and 14x14 floor tom, but not good at all on an 8x12's. I thought they...

Re: Vintage Rogers

I'm curious as to why you replaced the Swivomatic mounting system with the Pearl system. Had the Swivomatic mounts begun to fail to hold the drums?

Re: Rogers Blue Sparkle Headliner

Thanks Mark. Very similar to yours, but with an optional 9x13 for what would have been a whopping $8 up-charge. ;)

Rogers Blue Sparkle Headliner

1966-67-ish Rogers Headliner in blue sparkle pearl 20, 13, 16 configuration with 5x14 7-line COB Dynasonic. My first drum set was an MIJ kit in blue sparkle. Closest I could afford to match an...

Rogers Mounts Needed

I need on Rogers Swivomatic mount that would have been used on a mid-60's 14x20 bass drum as either the tom mount or a spur mount including the locking collet. I also need a Knobby floor tom leg...

Re: Joe Morello tribute kit

Great story. Great musician. Great music. Joe Morello was one of the drummers I wish I had gotten to see live.

Re: Rogers Dating Guide

Thanks Mike. I have a speckled Dayton bass at 87318 with the kit in the attached photo. The toms are:

8x12 - 91788
16x16 - 88076

As to the later big R drums, I don't think I've owned any yet.

Rogers Dating Guide

Has anyone updated the Rogers dating guide? The most recent guide I have is from around the year 2000 with the research having been done by Kelly Smith in the 805 area code (CA) and was apparently...

I tried hitting the "listing" Slingerfan, as noted above, and it worked. Thanks for the head's up on that.

eBay

Have you noticed that sold listings do not allow you to see the complete listing on eBay now? It used to be you could still call up the listing. Now it diverts you to a new listing.

Wow, Ploughman! You've got a fantastic pair of eyes. I would never have been able to count plies in those photos. But counting is the way to do it.
