Re: Evans vs. Remos

Remo for me. I've tried Evans and they don't work for me. I find my Snares become pingy quite quickly after playing for a short time, and the toms sound somehow baggy. That being said Evans have done...

Re: Looking for cymbal options to replicate 60s and 70s sound!

Oh my, Zildjian have just released a range of Avedis Cymbals that are off the chain. They have so captured that old sound and feel. I have a 22" Ride that is beautiful.

Re: Rogers "Big R"-My First Rogers Kit-I have a few questions......

Cheap as Chips but tune up and sound great. You'll need to chock the awful BD spurs with maybe velcro blocks to stop the drum running off, and ignore the Tom mounting system, but that aside all good.

Re: The only REMO heads produced today that are EXACTLY LIKE 1970s !!

So on a side note people, I shall reveal the trivia fact, as nobody joined in and played and taken a guess(sad face). It's 16,000 PER DAY!!! Add in the other companies, how many drums are being...

Re: The only REMO heads produced today that are EXACTLY LIKE 1970s !!

Up to you my friend. I guess it isn't an industry secret as such. Just a nice bit of trivia. :p

Looking forward to trying their new line. They do need to keep things moving as a company, although...

Re: The only REMO heads produced today that are EXACTLY LIKE 1970s !!

I think out of all the companies Remo have been far the laziest and have pretty much settled on what they know works, short of any manufacturing legislation brought in for any environmental issues...

Re: Floating Feet

I don't think its quite as simple as DW owning Gretsch and Gibraltar, and LP for that matter. I think its actually more of a matter that GEWA owns the lot, or at least owns a huge share in each of...

Re: Brexit

I'm not at all a fan of this Brexit thing at all. I think its a mistake that was voted for based on mistruths, jingoism and rebellion against a post crash austerity driven Tory government who had...

Re: Brian Blade @ Blue Note Hawaii on Gretsch RB

Oh very cool. I would love to acquire a little kit exactly the same to marry my current Gretsch's. It's a 22 13 16 w/mtchng snare config so putting that all together would be drummer heaven(well for...

Re: Worthy of a Sticky?

I'm not sure where you obtained this information sheet, but this really confuses me on all aspects of the history of the company. I think we need some cross examination from some proper Ludwig guys.
