Re: Pearl 14 x 14 Floor Tom

Does it have the script Pearl badge? I'd be interested in a trade or cash. I just bought the matching 12" tom for $35.

Re: Tons of vintage parts for sale

I left a message about Pearl script badges from the sixties. I thought I saw a reply in notifications, but now I don't.

Re: OMG Say it isn't so . . . Neal Peart has passed

In that genre, I have to say that he's the best, and maintained that throughout his life. That's impressive. He was a good man and a great talent.

Re: Slingerland repro badge fail

No. But if anybody needs the foil sticker Slingerland tags, I've got around six or seven of them.

Re: Wrap repair hack

Great idea. Now of course, I've got to suggest something...cut it into a circular shape.

Re: Gretsch micro-sensitive strainer help needed

Common problem with these. Watch video from this thread...great repair to get that throw working like it should, actually makes a great throw off .... when it's not broken.

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

The sum of the parts make a whole. And, he's also a buyer, on eBay, of drums that are then sold by their parts. Is that enough fact for you? The moon landings are not fake, and the Earth is not flat.

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

No. He takes drums apart, down to their screws, and sells the parts. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but please don't say that he's accumulating parts to resell...that's not what he's...

If he's not a parts stripper, then where does he get all of his parts from?

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

So you want a reso hoop, and it says tom reso...He has another sale for a snare reso with the gates.

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

Sometimes you just have to walk away. He obviously has misrepresented what it is, intentional or not. It can't be both a snare reso and a tom reso. You'll get one or the other...and when you've...

Re: Ludwig Mach Lugs - do they deaden the drum?

I've got a bucket of them...Free to somebody that will pick them up. They are far to heavy to send via mail, and I'm too busy to package them.

Re: Are These Badges Worth This?

No. The gold one must be worth $2000. the other two are only worth $1250. But not to me.

Re: In-Lay Adhesive

I don't recommend using tape around the entire circumference. The inlay will shrink or expand at a different rate than the metal, and the inlay will push up in some areas, look a bit funny sometimes,...

Re: If vintage drums were vintage cars then what's what?

I agree with your premise: Cheetah was made entirely in the US, so was Gretsch...but not Shelby.

My thought was: A Gretsch bop kit was made for a specific scene, so was the speedster.

Re: If vintage drums were vintage cars then what's what?

Gretsch bop would be the Porsche 356 Speedster...a made for America car, for THE American scene.

Re: For leftys...

If it's old enough, and has hoop mounted spurs, yes. Otherwise, through shell spurs, the legs will be on the rear part and won't be supporting the front. But don't let that stop you, I've seen...

Re: Refinishing late 50s Gretsch drums - maybe

Dude! You can't, you simply cannot do this. I'd like to stop you by buying the kit, but it's not in my budget with three kids. That is a beautiful set, and anything that you get done might be as...

Re: Vintage gold, red or green glitter/sparkle wrap for inlays

I've got most of the gold wrap from a 1950s cocktail kit. I've already cut strips for another forum member, charged only shipping, but he had to wait...mostly for me to get off my butt, find the...

Re: Gretsch Max Roach bottom snare hoop question

That hoop was definitely NOT used with the Max Roach snare drum. This hoop only worked with their lever strainer, the Microsensitive strainer and THAT hoop simply will not work on the 4" Gretsch...

Re: Why do people dent your heads ?

There is, in fact, a limit to the loudness of a drum correlated to the strength of the attack. That point is reached when the head is dented. You've just removed 1/8th of an inch of amplitude from...
