Re: Display Your Vintage Drums You Let Get Away

That Cusatis 4N is really nice, especially being the entire outfit with hardware and cymbals. I sold a drum I had waited for a long time. The offer was too high to resist. No regrets as a result, but...

Re: New Dynasonic

Thanks for that Mark. Lots of interesting points made in that forum. I'd like to see a side-by-side demonstration at some juncture.

I was surprised to see them showing up in New Hampshire. When I...

Re: rogers holiday series

I took another look and you may be right Mike. Hard to see. But I was wrong on the snare. A closer look seems to reveal a COB snare.

Re: Rogers Dynasonic wood snare drum

I took another look at the frame. I think it's complete. Just a bad reading of the pictures.

Re: Rogers Dynasonic wood snare drum

It looks as if the snare frame was cut. One one end the extensions that rest on the bottom hoop seats appears to be missing. Could be just the way I'm viewing the pictures. Other than that, it...

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

Picked this set up last spring. It's a 1968 Rogers 18,12,12,14 Londoner with a COB Dynasonic. It was in very nice shape other than the fact that the wrap was toast. It has been done over and the...

Re: rogers holiday series

It certainly looks like an early 60's B&B 20, 12, 16, 14 snare Swingtime outfit in BDP with the choice of a matching snare drum.

Re: Ludwig Super Classic or Standards or Anomaly?

K.O. - Does the drill holes for baseball bat mufflers impact you view that these were Standards from day one?

Re: Ludwig Super Classic or Standards or Anomaly?

I just found an outside picture of the FT shell showing a baseball bat muffler hole there too.

Re: Ludwig Super Classic or Standards or Anomaly?

That note about the muffler hole is a very good clue Mike, and one that would tend to indicate a Super Classic shell prior to 68/69. That shot is actually the 9x13 tom. The same picture of the FT...

Re: Ludwig Super Classic or Standards or Anomaly?

PS - Interiors were repainted, which is one reason I thought someone had stripped the gear off of a Super Classic, and the badges have a brass grommet not an aluminum one.

Outlier PowerTone

For those of you who track such things, this red onyx PowerTone for sale on eBay is an outlier from the Rogers Dating Guide. It has a Cleveland label and a serial number almost to 17xxx.

It is interesting that the Ludwigs have a date stamp so you can figure the build date and celebrate. Nice kit!

I'm thinking that when they find your computer archive in several hundred years, they will marvel at the extent of what you have captured of vintage drums! You always have the photo at the...

Re: Craigslist score.

Nice catch for $300. You don't see that too often!!

If those drums all came together from the factory (excluding the Acrolite of course), then you have a Top Hat outfit, as seen in the attached...

Re: 1959 George Way (Re-wrap)

I've never had any George Way drums. Having had Camcos though (see my former re-wrapped merlot set), I'm assuming they were made the Way drums should be made and are Way cool. Good luck with the sale...

Can there be many of us that haven't had the pleasure of playing a nice Ludwig like that? Great set-up.
