Re: Why do people dent your heads ?

Arenít you talking about two different things though? Regarding sticks, yes they produce different sounds depending on the mass and shape hitting the drum, but that is not the same factor as how much...

Re: Canada Day, Part Two

With any drug comes responsibility. Weed is still better for you than alcohol, so it is good to see some countries (and states) get rid of this old double standard. Peace and love! flower

I donít get why the cymbal mount is cringeworthy?

Re: Old Man Rant: Something I hope never happens to drums.

Well, I didnít want to be the one to say it. ;)

Re: Vintage Camco 5000 Bass Drum Pedal

I’ve got one just like that, probably paid too much for it but I’m glad I did, cause now it’s all I ever use. It has a very natural and effortless feel to it. The more common chain Camco is almost as...

Re: Sick of drum pics? Post a pic of your favorite "side-dish" here.

The 60ís (and 70ís) had the best synthesizers. Here an EMS VCS3 from 1969. A Camco LA is lurking in the background for extra relevance...

Re: Camco Drums

For those sizes, if they would still have had their original wrap they would have been worth double what he’s asking. I’m no fan of black lacquer, but soundwise they should still be fantastic, and...

Re: Camco Drums

Ok, that would make them pretty unique. Only early Oaklawn had 4-ply, as far as I know.
Chanute era were 6 ply Jasper, and LA switched to 6 ply Keller.

Chanute and LA 4-ply?? Did you mean to say 6-ply?

Re: Tabs.... Sister Golden Hair... anyone?

Seems very straightforward. The rest is 4, and the fill is 4, but maybe what is messing up your counting is the fact that the vocals come in early towards the end of the fill, before the next 1,...

Re: Camco Oaklawn complete Drum set for sale 12, 12, 14, 18, 14

Agreed, sure. In my view it is more of a problem if the fading isnít uniform. If anything, a slightly faded wrap means itís original.
I happen to like the ginger ale look, can certainly understand...

Re: Camco Oaklawn complete Drum set for sale 12, 12, 14, 18, 14

Wow, silver sparkle absolutely not appealing?!? Thatís highly subjective. Do you mean from some weird collectors angle? Because personally I would take the SS over gold, and most any other wrap...

Re: Newby needs help

Possibly the first, definitely the latter. And itís just a shame in general really, to experiment on older cymbals.
I would suggest you find an older stand, or trade the cymbal towards something...

Re: Camco 18/12/14 bop kit ~ all orphans

Me, I would love to find a silver sparkle 18”...but in reality I would take just about any old Oaklawn/Chanute 18”, random wrap or no wrap at all, holes or no holes. I just want a player one as an...
