Re: Nylon Washer under Tension Rods? - Ludwig

Cool. I have a 1980 Acrolite with nylon washers, but only on one side. Obviously someone changed them at some point. Why they did it on the resonant side and not the batter side is beyond me, but...

Smile Nylon Washer under Tension Rods? - Ludwig

Does anyone know if Ludwig built the Acrolite drum with nylon washers under the tention rods instead of the brass washer? And if so, when they started doing this?

Thanks,

Re: K Instambual Turkey

Obviously the cracks are going to kill the value of the cymbal, but I was just curious if anyone had an idea of what its value might be.

I am on the fence about keeping it just for the sake of its...

Re: K Instambual Turkey

Perhaps the information is incorrect, but it was from a site I found online - here is what I found:

New Stamp (1967-77)
The so-called new stamp looks very similar to the intermediate stamp, with...

Re: K Instambual Turkey

The cymbal seems to have a really nice sound. Oh, and I found a site that said that this was the New stamp that was made in 66. Apparently some type of transition stamp - the double stamping...

Re: Vintage Tension Rod? - What brand?

I will dig through the rods and see if they match up to those lengths and see if these all fit into one of those categories.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Re: Ludwig T-Rods - Longer Version

But the ones used on club date kits, wouldn't those be "bow tie" style? Or did they make a kit that took the later style like those made in the 60s and 70s?

Ludwig T-Rods - Longer Version

I recently disassebled a 1966 Ludwig bass drum and found that the T-Rods used were longer than any I have ever seen.
They are definately Ludwig T Rods, but what drum would have used a 5-1/2" rod?...

Re: Vintage Tension Rod? - What brand?

So, perhaps these flat headed rods were used by one or more drum companies in the 50s?
