Re: Type I,II,III old K s

I agree with Mel. The first time I hit an Istanbul in a music store in the mid-late-80s, I said holy crap, that's an old K. No they aren't the same as old stamps, or intermediate stamps, rather...

Re: My Christmas Present

I recently switched to a vintage Camco kit. As I was taking them apart to clean it up, wow, talk about superior build quality. Attention to detail, rock-solid parts, super easy to tune, and they...

Re: Camco

I recently switched from vintage Gretsch to vintage Camco. What a difference. Camco build quality is noticeably superior and they sound amazing.

Re: Zildjian Clone? Zildjian K? What is this?

It should be added that the reason Italy became a center for cymbal making, was because of the history of church bell casting in Pistoia. Also, many of the Italian ersatz K's are excellent in their...

Re: Zildjian Clone? Zildjian K? What is this?

Re: K or not a K?

I'll revise my vote and change it to Italian. I too was concerned by the Arabic, it looked more like ones I'd seen on Italian cymbals. And although the hammer pattern looks more Italian, my first...

Re: Playing with calf heads

I don't know the answer to all of your questions. I do detune them a little after each gig, but just a little. Some heads (like the Litek ones) will actually tighten themselves when the drums are...

Re: Anybody re-lathed their old K's

Re: Selling Gretsch mid 60's R.B. 12,14,18,4x14 Champagne Sp
