Wow, Thanks a lot for the info! I didn't know how to call the lugs.
Mine look like snadblasted or so, they are more 'grey' than other. Are this the ones that are nickel plated? The ones on ebay...

I just got a Radio King snare 14by7. Amazing snaredrum.
Now one lug just breaks (the metal broke in two).

So now I have this amazing snaredrum, but without one lug!

This seems very 70's indeed! Must be great to try out. Don't you get a similar sound like tony williams had on his yellow DW drums? (you ca see on zildjian days) a lot of attack, but not so much...

Thanks a lot! Well I have to do some rock recordings now. So the Ambassadors sound a bit too light....I always try to tune them much too low.
So maybe Ambassador X is a good solution?

But went with the drums in studio (edges are not done yet) and the engeneer just said: the toms sound incredible........so still do it?

Well I did not see a lot of them on the 2ndhanded market. But the ones available are actually pretty cheap. I have the impression that sonor - apart from the signature horst link series - is not...
