Re: Rogers Mardi Gras that got away.

Hope someone here got those drums. They will be very happy. 3 ply shells and tall hoops. Perhaps the best sounding Rogers. Only downside is most likely first generation beavertail lugs - the posts...

Re: 14" Rogers floor tom value

Funkypoodle, I couldn’t agree with you more.

Extremely irritating seeing folks who thinks they are a price expert being so rude as to interfere with a fellow drum brother’s sale! It’s just plain...

Re: 14" Rogers floor tom value

Wow! Way to go guys. Nice of you to help a fellow drum brother sell a drum. Ha! This whole price discussion thing gets very boring. Sellers can ask whatever they want. No need to step all over...

Like many of us collectors, he has accumulated a lot of parts over the years.

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

No misrepresentation. He clearly states for a snare batter, not snare resonant. It would work for either a 14” snare batter or a 14” tom batter or resonant head hoop, which is what is stated in the...

Re: For Sale - English made Rogers Dyna-sonic COB

I agree, the drum looks complete. The ones I have seen normally have a first generation snare frame, but perhaps you have a later version that has a later frame. First version Oval badge with no...

Re: For Sale - English made Rogers Dyna-sonic COB

You might also want to be more specific re your drum. Does it have the original first generation strainer, beaver tail or B&B lugs, is the script badge still intact, all other parts original and...

Re: Rogers Drums Advertisement

Rogers was well aware of the cracked lug issue. The issue usually seemed to arise from over tensioned drums, with the most common problem drum being the 6 lug Spotlight, that evolved into the Luxor....

Re: Swivomatic Pedal

Well I have never seen the loop attachment before, nor have I seen the hole in the base plate. All I can say is that Imhave a first gen one piece footboard and it has the hole in the base. The two...

Re: Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

It is not unusual that UK dynas have beavertail lugs. Just like here, earlier ones had B&B lugs. The shell is different than US 7 liner Rogers. Maybe heavier?

I have one that I got in 1968...

Re: Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

You have an English built Dynasonic. Excellent drum. The beavertail versions will usually have tall hoops (like yours), a first generation football shaped oval badge with no serial number or...

Re: Swivomatic Pedal

Hi Dan. I have a very early (first) version and it does have the hole thru the base. I never noticed that either. It is a one piece footboard so the heel is attached to the rod via the typical...

Re: REMO Skyntone drumheads vs RTOM moongel pads

I use moon gel on a variety of heads and have never seen that, but then I haven’t tried skyntone heads. The newer gels seem to be “bluer” than the older ones. I suspect some of the die got...

Re: Rogers Re-Wrap

KO, you are correct and I stand corrected. I went upstairs and took another look. In my incandescent lighting, it all looks very close (see photo with unfaded kit). However, when I used a flash,...

Re: Rogers Re-Wrap

I am very partial to the silver, gold and green glass that Rogers used in the 60’s. Sorry, didn’t mean to neglect red as that is one of my favorites and I hope to acquire a red sparkle kit.

A...

Re: Very early 7 line Rogerís Dynasonic! #1063

Dw, congrats on your early Dyna. Very cool. Love those Gretsch shells.

My earliest COB Dyna is a pre-badge paper tag #3489, no tone control. I have no idea where the sequence began.

My...

Re: Buying advice: Slingerland Radio King

That should be a great playing drum. I wouldn’t let the alterations bother me if it sounds great. I would source some 50’s-60’s chrome or nickel over brass triple flange hoops and enjoy it. ...
