It was my cousin's... He bought it after getting out of Vietnam... Brought it back from Japan... It's in good shape and I enjoy playing it... I put natural skins on it and it has a real nice sound......

I have a set of 1966 Presidents that are wood... The first Presidents came out in '66... Its made out of luan wood... i.e., fake mahagony...

I just bought a President Series Pearl Drum Set... Included in the purchase was a set of Z-Avedis Cymbals... Including a 20 inch "medium" ride; an 18 inch "medium" ride/crash and a pair of 14 inch...

i have a little 14 inch floor tom with a badge that says: "TULIO" "Delux" Made in Japan... Any idea if this is the same "delux" brandname mentioned above?

I've got an old President series Pearl set and put Earthtone goatskin batter heads on my 13'' and 16'' toms... I put Remo Fyberskins on the bottoms... This saved money re: Copying the real skin tones...

I have a Camber II thin crash that I love... It actually makes a great second ride as well as a crash... It has a very "sweet" sound... I have no idea how old it is and can't seem to find any info on...

Love this thread... Great vintage Pearls! I'll post pics of my 1966 President series when it's completed... My cousin bought it in Japan on his way back to the states after serving in Viet Nam...

I agree with Drumaholic--- the stamp appears to be from the mid to late 50's.
If the Z znd C are stamped in deeper then it would be from the late 40's to early 50's.

I've got an old Pearl set that I like a lot... for the toms, I use Earthtone goat skin batter heads and on the bottom Remo Fiberskyns... I tune the 13 inch mounted tom to a D and the 16 inch floor...

Remo Fiberskyns are great... that's what I have on the bottom of the toms (I put them there when I got the Earthtones). They work great with the Earthtone batter heads... I play a lot of blues---old...

I'm a huge vintage Avedis fan... I play 13 inch late 40's/early 50's high hats; a 16 inch mid-50's crash and a 22 inch mid-60's ride... I especially love my high hats the crispest chick and warmest...

It is confusing... I have the simple badge... I'm pretty sure the wood shells are mahagony... Plus, I also have the original stands, seat, kick pedal... but actually use mapex hardware when...

Thanks for the comment... The President Series was introduced in 1966... see Pearl History on their official site... Also, I have provenance on this particular set as it was my cousin who purchased...

I need 8 claws and 8 t-rods. The cymbal mount is diamond shaped. It is 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. The mounting screw holes drilled into the bass drum are 2 inches apart. I will send pics later...
