that is a common factory install in this era

those knobby brackets could be used for anything from a cymbal to a cowbell or block etc...

not uncommon at all ... and definitely factory

yup Holiday model snare as I suspected
the number is foggy but looks to be around '62/'63
which would make sense with the permatension strainer without the black logo paint
tall boy hoops...

that is most likely a faded Sparkling Red Pearl unless it's a rewrap
definitely worth $500 even with the converted field drum.
best to get a count on how many of those lugs are cracked though ......

it was thought to be correct at the time I'm sure

there are some contradictions in the book ... and some incorrect dating ... etc

it's a great book ... all the catalog stuff alone is worth...

I simply said that there is a lot of misinformation in the Cook book ... meaning it is not always the trusted source people once thought it was

in the Rob Cook book there are a lot of things that are incorrect

not saying this particular info is incorrect ... but the book has plenty of mistakes

they will eventually yes

but as of now they are working on full kits with Beavertail lugs

they know there is a demand for B&B lugs on toms and bass drums because of the cracking and how badly...

he uses that one example everywhere ...
