Re: Camco Question

It's also interesting because from what I " thought " I knew ( And again I could be wrong, hence why I didn't mention earlier ) What I thought I read, heard, fromsome time ago was that when Camco sold...

Re: Camco Question

With regard to Tama. First - they were one of three stencil drum makers in the 1960's, early 70s'. And not all of the kits were " junk " as with today there were differing levels of quality based on...

Re: What age did you start drumming?

I was 14 when I got my first snare and kit a few months down the road. Wow that was 20 years ago. I've spent more of my life as a drummer than not, as I'm sure many of us here have.

Re: Help ID and info on an old bass drum

Bass drum is also an Apollo, just with replaced lugs. Value wise I'd say $50-$80. I certainly wouldn't put them back out on the curb, someone will have interest. Always people looking for project...

Re: New drum coming

KCDrumDad - That is the only other snare I've seen with the Rocket badge. I'll have to find the photos of mine, but it also has a very unusual wrap. And interestingly enough, Kenwood has a kit in the...

Sweet find! I haven't seen that badge but I have two of those exact snares. One has a Rocket badge, the other ( also in BDP ) has no badge. Same exact dual strainer and butt, Gretsch knock off lugs....

Re: What's with the low ballers ?

If I personally see a good price I don't try and haggle it. case in point. Some years back a friend's dad wanted to sell his 1983 Tama Superstar kit. Two 24" bass drums, 12",13",14",15" toms, 16",18"...

Re: Should I sell ?

If they were really beat up project drums, wrap in shambles, missing hardware,etc... Making tables would be keeping them alive. But to make those into tables is just a sad way for drums to go. What...

Re: Roxy Snare - Made In Western Germany

Jeff, it's actually a simple motion back and forth and it slides up and down the twisted groove. Works surprisingly well and doesn't wanna easily slide down. Ken, that is a beautiful kit and it would...

Re: Vintage Zildjian????

If the price is right I'd snag it regardless. I personally have an older A where the stamp is hard to find, it likely wasn't struck hard back in the 1950's. But enough is there to find if you know...

Re: Ludwig or not?

I agree with K.O, that bass drum looks like it may have been converted from a floor tom. To me the whole kit looks like it may be an assembly of older Ludwig drums converted into a nice players kit....

It should to my knowledge. I've been around a good amount of RCI kits also being from CT and they have always looked spot on to me.
