Didn't the Eagle badge shells have black painted interiors from the factory?

Josh I had the same trouble with lugs on mine. There is a some inconsistency in the lug tabs. My guess each batch might varied a bit? Plus then when they crack they spread a bit. I didn't squeeze...

Most times yes. This also allowed nice cleanup of the hole itself if needed. If the next size plug was too big it would get sanded down to fit.

Great work Josh! Making a curved ply plug for the holes is really taking it up a notch. Good tip on making the plugs smaller too. I have always rounded up in size to match plug cutter bits. Please...

Boy they look really nice. Great to start with such a nice example. Wrap is a favorite of mine. What is the diameter of the floor tom? Looks larger than 16"? Matching snare is a bonus.

That's interesting on the Evans heads. My 16" has the early Jasper flat edges. It too sounded great out of the box. The 13" (also Jasper) no so much. Had the same results as you. A "tink" tuned high...

Agree with Michael. I have a few red label Slingerland stands. And the T bolt looks very much like the ones they used for stand height adj and tilter. I'm not positive on what era my stands are from...

Really nice! Let me know how you like the Evans heads on them. C1 or 2's? I usually get Evans. But went with Remo Ambassadors on mine. Had a few tuning struggles but great sounding once settled in....

Not so vintage but 2 of my SK's. First one is a older WFL model. Nice original condition but has mechanical issues. 2nd one is THE FIRST Speed King pedal I bought brand new some 40+ years ago in 72....
