Re: Vintasge Gretsch/Ludwig Frankenkit

I hope whoever turn those down for free is kicking themselves in the butt right now. Some people just can't visualize very well. That is a good-looking kit and I'll bet it does sound excellent!

Re: Original or rewrap??

If you ever get tired of this drum let me know 1962 was my birth year and I would love to have that drum. I have a oyster blue kit at home waiting for a matching snare. Oh heck I know you will never...

Re: Rogers Re-Wrap

Really good advice from Drum Doug. Restoring, re-wrapping kits is something you do because you enjoy working on drums, its not for everyone. Its almost impossible to recover the expenses that it...

Re: Rogers Re-Wrap

I would have someone like Precision do the job if you choose a glass glitter, and have never wrapped a drum.

Re: some lucky dog is going to win this....

I estimate you will need about 800.00 to buy this. I bid on the last 14x14 Rogers floor tom and it had extra holes, went for about 660 I think. I remember it was 700 with shipping. But good luck...

Re: Acrolite?

Yes I have seen many pictures of Mikes drum, but is the finish original? I was thinking it was done by an armature.

Re: Acrolite?

That drum has some nice looking chrome on it! If I Could get that for less than 200 I would go for it. But then I would remove that horrible black stuff and polish it if possible or paint it.

Re: Ludwig Club Date ? 100.00?

Well here's the picture I promised. I added a 16 in floor tom. It's not a club date but as you know there really are no 16 inch Club date drums.

Re: Anyone else get disheartened at all the greed in the vintage drum market?

Well I guess I am guilty as charged, I listed some high prices on my drums here. I did ask for help in pricing them but got no such thing. So at first I was using my "dont want to sell it" price then...

Re: Rogers Fullerton, good or not?

Thank you very much, I look forward to sharing the results. Think I will get some heads and play these while I stew over what wood species to go with, right now walnut is sounding good.
