Any thoughts on why recently acquired Slingerland 12" and 13" toms that mount with no problem on a Set-O-Matic post are difficult to mount on the 14 arms that I own among seven Super Set-O-Matic...

The company sold its Vic Firth Gourmet line of kitchen products in 2012 to concentrate on its core drumstick business. Those pieces were evidently well-known for their quality.

+1 on a 20" Paiste gong. Sounds just as good as the larger ones and opens up a lot faster. Also easier to transport ... it nests perfectly with a 22" bass drum.
