Wow...$30?!! I would have purchased it as well! Love those offset lugs, too! Looking forward to the "after" pictures!

Re: Help please--paper tags, and what model is my Rogers?

I completely understand the two points of view from both leedybdp and O-Lugs. I would like to expand on the concept of "catalog" kits and changing sizes from those listed in the description.

As an...

Re: Help please--paper tags, and what model is my Rogers?

caddywumpus!

All the above comments are correct, sir! While it's nice to have a catalogued kit, you could change anything you wanted with it. From that point on, it's not so much a catalog kit as...

Re: Conversation starter - Ringo with WMP

Hi Marty!

I believe I read about this somewhere, just not sure where right now. And, yes, it was most likely a "place-holder" kit until Ringo's OBP kit arrived. The bass drum anchor was a W&A and...

Re: What Color is my snare?

The finish looks too light to be Walnut. A Google search of 4158W turns up some sites noting that the W is Walnut. Still, every example of Gretsch's Walnut is much darker, so I'm a bit confused with...

Re: Opinions: Hawthorne Drum Shop

Hi Ludwigboy!

Glad to hear about your experience with Chris and Hawthorne Drums. As many have previously noted, Chris is a standup guy and I've never heard anything negative about the items they...

Re: Oliver Ditson Co. Boston New York

I believe the largest picture size is approximately 1000x1000 pixels and around 140K. The typical picture from an iPhone is over 4x in pixel size and a huge file size. I get it that many of us don't...

Re: Slingerland snare basement find, not sure next move

Very clean! It appears to be the Two-to-One snare drum, with 12 lugs on top and 6 on the bottom. Is that what you have?

Re: Vintage Gretsch wrap issue

Forgot to mention that the Burgundy Sparkle looks great, with little-to-no fading. It seems that Gretsch drums from this time period, more than any other brand, suffered from breaking and cracking of...

Re: Vintage Gretsch wrap issue

This would be my vote! While it may not be cheap, just considering the size of the box plus labor, you know it will be done right. That, plus the fact that it's an excellent kit, in a great color!...

Re: Gretsch silver sealer evaporate?

This is my view as well. I've seen examples of early 60's shells with like-new sealer, simply due to the fact that the heads were left on and the drums not stored in high-humidity areas.

Re: Tama brass/ bronze pico

Tama also made this drum in a bell brass shell, meaning that it was cast and lathed. As such, there was no seam. The standard brass shell drum did, indeed, have a seam. If the pawn shop drum was all...

Re: Tama brass/ bronze pico

Hi Spread5150!

That drum is the PM323 and shows in the 1988 Snare Drum catalog. PM stands for Power Metal. The shell is brass and the size is 3.5x14. Came with 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops top and...

Re: Does anyone recognize these lugs?

eBay to the rescue! I did a search of "Pearl lugs" in the Musical Instruments & Gear section and found these lugs from quite a few sellers!...

Hi blackd! Can you post pictures of your kit showing these lugs? I've never seen these lugs on an Export series.
