Re: Relatively Large Ludwig Orphan Trade Thread (plus some Gretsch)

I can get you some in the next few days. They're really pretty nice. Emailing me is better, since I'm just not as active on here as DFO and Cymbalholic - mobile version on iPhone is... not optimal.

Relatively Large Ludwig Orphan Trade Thread (plus some Gretsch)

So, here's the score. I have a heaping helping of shells I've bought for a rewrap project. Some of them are wrap-free, some have wrap that's loose and would be equally easy to reglue OR to remove,...

Gretsch Vinnie (white/black hardware) 14/16/18 bass, vintage Giant Beat 24" & 20", Lu

A round of things on Reverb that I need to get out of my house before they turn into "hunt-down-everything-that-matches" projects. Forum members in good standing get 10% off.

WTT - Rogers bass lugs for tom lugs

I have somehow ended up with a pile of bass lugs (both single-ended and Tower double-ended), so of course the unicorn shell I stumble on needs 10-ish tom lugs. The ones I have range from...

WTB - Rogers B&B tom lugs

The 1 5/8" hole spacing, just over 2" total front-to-back ones.
Need 10-ish, don't have to be perfect, just need to be salvageable.

Maxwell's repops are coming in a few months but I A: Would...

Can vouch for detroitdrumexchange as a good dude to deal with.

Re: My pies walked

I have a friend who leaves a busted Mac laptop and a wallet with a $50 peeking out right on her counter by the door - it's worked more than once (she's was an art student, apparently they're rough on...

WTB - Rogers blue glass 20" hoop, Ludwig rewrappable 20/22 70's, Luddy Champagne 16"

Got a bit of a laundry list here.

Need a Rogers blue glass 20" bass hoop

Ludwig 20" and 22" bass, post-white-interior, late-60's and 70's preferred for rewrap project. Tom mount unimportant.

Re: Where's Cherie?

I heard she got into local politics - City Council, Country Commissioner, that kind of thing. Some of her drums toward the end got REALLY fishy, and the language in the descriptions so finely parsed...

Re: Slingerland 18" floor tom from early 60's - do they exist?

I think a lot of it has to do with drums (instruments in general) selling so quickly that companies didn't need to worry about making things beyond the Big Kit (22" bass) and Little Kit (20" bass)....

Re: Ludwig Butcher Block Wrap Piece

It's countertop material. Maybe see if you can buy a remnant from a home improvement store or remodeler? I put stickum-backed sandpaper on the inside of a drum to sand a dowel to the shell's radius,...

WTT - 24" 60's Zildjian, 14" 2002 Sound Edge

Looking to trade these. I got really sweet drum-bro prices on these, and just wanted to give them a whirl. Too cool to not get used, but it doesn't seem respectful to turn a profit. Trade me...

Gretsch 14" blonde Broadkaster, 16" Rogers hoops, Pearl double pedal FS/FT

2000's 14" Broadkaster in blonde finish - yeah, yeah, the proper bottom hoop is in the post, should be on there by the end of the week. Normal dings & nicks. Gunmetal hardware above average, chrome...

Re: Beginning of My Bonzo

Hey, Eric. Good to see this kit progressing - I've actually got a couple of large kits in the works, and some Cortex removal in my future, too. Hope you can get this project moving forward again soon!

WTB - 14"x14" Ludwig for rewrap project, 70's to present

Would very much like a smaller FT to go with this project, basically anything '70-ish, B/O or later is fine so long as it's 14x14, 8 big lugs. 13" deep could work, or a concert tom, but it's gotta be...

Re: Flat Rides - What`s Your Opinion of Them?

I've had a few. There was an 18" Agop Vezir (I think - lathed top, unlathed bottom) that sounded lovely, but was quieter than a church ****. There was a scummy old A 18" with a ton of rivets that was...

Re: Is this anything?

Well, everything is something. I mean, nothing is nothing, right?
But then, everything might be an illusion, and something could be anything?
We've all seen something that we thought was nothing,...

FOUND Ludwig 12" 70's 3-ply for rewrap

Looking for a late 60's/70's B/O 12" for a cool rewrap project - clear interior preferred.

Doesn't have to be complete.

Thanks again.

Re: Gretsch snare muffler

If it literally falls, like spring-bouncing-around, knob-pulled-out-of-the-drum, that little brass bit is stripped. And there does seem like I see a fair amount of metal in the threads between it and...

Re: Simply Stunning Gretsch BOP kit on eBay

Yeah, Gretsch bop kits end up with the same people who buy (or maybe they're priced out of their reach now, too) late 50's Les Pauls or a full set of accurate Beatles gear in their man-cave. It's a...

Re: Simply Stunning Gretsch BOP kit on eBay

I'll happily talk smack about all the things about Gretsch that stink (which are mostly hardware-related), and that's as someone who has 40-some of their drums in my house. But there is an ineffable...

Re: Simply Stunning Gretsch BOP kit on eBay

I'd bet even more on this kind of thing - people can forgive Rogers hardware on an 18" but I bet they'd be way less forgiving of any nits that could be picked on a 20". There was a really groovy...

Re: Gretsch RB Bop Clone

One thing to keep in mind, Gretsch DID use Keller shells on occasion when Jasper didn't have a certain size on hand, for quick special orders, or weird stuff like bongos or cocktail drums, concert...

Re: A Wrap is a Wrap

Another thing to keep in mind is that a lacquer finished drum, like a Thermogloss Luddy or Walnut Gretsch, is pretty delicate when it comes to taking knocks. The Ludwig countertop finishes are...
