Re: Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

and purely by chance I bought a 5" version locally which turned up today (it's not often you see a Dynasonic of any vintage for sale here). It's not like I was looking for a Dyna but they seemed to...

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Perfect! Thanks so much. It's as I suspected the screws at the pivot point on my snare must've fallen out at some point and someone put one long nail through instead. It can't have a shaft running...

Re: Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

Yes Mike, one screw has been removed and possibly replaced. My theory here is that someone tried to remove the badge, found it too hard as it's also held on with the grommet, and then just gone with...

Re: My Yamaha 70's kit. Info needed.

Cool! Do you still have the snare or photos showing the throw off in some details? I need to know what's missing or not working properly on mine.

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Because I'm on the other side of the world I think the cost would be double what I paid for the kit, unfortunately. I'll be having a good look locally though. Something might show up

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Well there you go! I could not find one the same earlier in the week. This looks to be a single mounted tom set up. I wish the snare was with it as I reckon I'll be needing some reference to help get...

Granto - I tried the pencil paper trick but no luck. I will keep trying with some of the other suggestions though

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Jim, you could be right about the plies being birch, I'm not good enough with wood to discern that. Yes it will have the angled seams.
I have a 20/12/14 kit from the early 70s with the steel snare...

Re: My Yamaha 70's kit. Info needed.

I know this is an old thread Trond but if you still have the drums would you mind photographing the snare throw-off for me? I have one the same but not working and possibly not complete. Your kit is...

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Thanks Jim, I've had numerous early Yamaha sets but I think you're right that this one is a bit later. I found this post which is a kit of exactly the same vintage right down to the snare strainer...

Re: Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

thanks guys. Stolen many years ago seems the most likely scenario. I think 666 would be too early a number sadly. I really like that idea though.
If I squint I can almost still make out some numbers...

Re: Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

Thanks Mo, I will ask for that. And yes, I assume from my communications with the seller that he bought it this way.

John - The photos from the auction didn't show a close up of the badge and I...

Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

I purchased this drum on Ebay a few weeks back and finally received it this week due to how far away I am. The seller packed it beautifully and shipping cost a small fortune as a result. But that's...
