Yeah I'd say go for it. Those are some good sounding drums for the money. 3 ply beech shells with maple re-rings I think. And those cymbals might be Tyrkos, which were actually made in the Sonor...

I go coated ambs on my sonor Teardrops. 3ply with re-ring beech. I tune then up a bit when I practice my swing/ jazz stuff. Lower for regular stuff. They sound great to me either way.

Yeah Henk is the man! When you get on there check out his snare collection in the Geeks section. Simply unreal. He has like 4 drums I would saw off body parts for!

Yeah maybe blairndrums. I've noticed that in photos that finish has a "movement" to it and it creates a weird look. Only in photos though. Weird.
