Thanks for the input everyone! I am now a believer in these things! Yesterday I bought the original type from a nearby music store. The techie swore by it. I didn't need it for my Supra (no issues)...

With Rod all the way on this. I don't like gel pads of any kind, but don't mind the look and sound of a Snareweight damper. Perhaps with the right wires and good damping system?
