Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

They are odd for sure, but in a good way. I like them. The bass drum is obviously cool as heck and the set up of the toms is as well, however, they look hard to play laying so flat like that.

Hey,...

Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

Not for nothing, but if Kenny Jones let's his lady friends sit on his floor tom, then of course it's going to fall apart! DOH:eek:

Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

Well, I'm good with it.

Reproduce them all. Some guys want new drums, and they don't care about anything vintage and the problems that can come with them. Especially a brand like Trixon drums,...

Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

Yeah, that's about $2300 American. Pretty steep for sure, but not completely out of line compared to some of the other boutique makers out there.

I don't know, so I'll ask, do they sound like...

Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

I'm kind of curious about how they'll be priced. These were pretty expensive BITD, so I imagine they will be again.

What do you guys think?

Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

You are probably correct, these are a niche market kind of drum set and always were. But even the niche market can be profitable.

I don't see it as a bad thing, just another choice to consider.

Re: Oh No...Trixon Is Back From The Dead

From the title of the thread and the wording in your post, you seem to dislike this revival, yet weren't you all for the Slingerland revival deal with DW?

What's the difference?

Re: Vintage Drums Comparison

In a live gig situation, I doubt anybody in the audience would have heard a difference in any of these kits.

And not for anything, but that MIJ sounded as good as any of those other kits and it...

Re: RIP Neil peart

I agree that the rock life can be really tough, but unless I'm wrong, I don't think Neil led the typical rock & roll life. He was in a good long time marriage with his wife and daughter, both...

Re: Promuco John Bonham stick coming to NAMM 2020

Seems kind of common to me, unless I'm missing something.

I think the Vic Firth American Classics go 595, and 16". Vater also has the Fatbacks and Extended Play at 590, 16" as well.

Re: OMG Say it isn't so . . . Neal Peart has passed

Wow, kind of shocked. I had no idea he was even sick. I can't say I was a huge fan, but I'm not generally a fan of the monster kit players, although his music kind of required it I guess. But my...

Re: Ludwig Tom

As usual, I agree johnnyringo.

It's one thing to talk about and show pics of our vintage drums, but it adds whole nother dimension to actually hear them and find out how they sound. I think it...

Re: Ludwig 3-Ply concerns-Shell Shock??

A lot of threads die on the vine around here. I'm not really sure why. It's sort of maddening really.

Anyway, those are some really big sized drums, so I don't think you'll have a problem getting...

Re: Gretsch "Drop G"

Can't add much except to say , it's a beautiful kit and you got a killer deal on them!

A few hundred bucks? You can hardly find a decent stencil kit for a few hundred bucks these days. If I may...

Re: Help with high quality picture of Tempro Bass drum head logo

I agree, that is excellent work!

But you can get one already made for less than $6, so I'm not sure the effort is worth it, unless your having fun doing it.

Re: Ordered "No Brand" hi-hats for $33?

Glad they worked out for you!

Could be Italian, since it doesn't measure a full 13"s. I think real Turk cymbals measured correctly. I love 13" hats. They seem quicker and and usually have a nice...

Re: '48 Radio King Set Possibly Coming My Way

Yeah, I like the 2 floor tom thing, it is old school cool.

As far as the wrap, you could reach out to member ARdrummer, as he is really into re-wrapping drums. I'm guessing he knows what's out...
