Re: Rogers Top Hat Drum Set

Can one of the Rogers experts set the record straight on the Swivo tom holders? Mark (idrum4fun) and Dave's (jdz) tom holders look to be the same while leedybdp's appears to be different.

Re: DW Buys Slingerland Name

+1 with K.O. It's possible Slingerland will be to DW what Leedy was to Slingerland after Slingerland bought Leedy in the mid 50's. Perhaps that's fitting.

Re: 60's Ludwig Kits - sequential serial numbers?

Nice study. Closely clustered serials do seem to correlate to being born together but the opposite is not necessarily true. Large spreads do not automatically eliminate a kit from born together...

Re: 60's Ludwig Kits - sequential serial numbers?

.....and that catalog anal-retentive would be correct! By your own admission the second tom was added over ten years later. The serial would reflect that as well as nuanced construction/hardware...

Re: The newbie and the 1950ís Slingerland Drum Set

A quick observation; this kit is NOT a Krupa 1N (and that's OK). The bass drum and snare are incorrect models for a Krupa 1N kit. Check all the drums for date stamps.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

[QUOTE=zenstat;Everybody slow down and take a deep breath and repeat after me: this is not about fake badges and RCI "Vistalite" shells. This is a discussion about whether or not there exist BO2...

Re: Ludwig Tequila Sunrise 6 3/4x14 Snare

I get your point. What I should have posted is "Here is some info that may further verify that this is a fake badge". The info is new to me and maybe to others as well. Thanks to KCDrumDad and...

Re: eBay listing that infuriates me!

This is the question everyone should be spending their time on. What do you say Hobbs, idrum4fun, DrumBob, Boslover, O-lugs, jda, V-more2000 and even JRingo: What's an unmolested original worth?

Re: eBay listing that infuriates me!

O-Lugs, you make some good points but your statements regarding the OP are incorrect. Just to be fair, member idrum4fun is the OP and he was not overly confrontational nor did he reference the...

Re: K. Zildjian Constantinople...the worlds most sought after cymbals

Hitchcock actually made this movie twice. Originally in 1934 and then again in 1956. The screen shot is from the 1956 remake filmed in Technicolor.

Re: Ludwig Tequila Sunrise 6 3/4x14 Snare

Very subtle differences. The circled "R" also appears to be more toward the left than the originals. It would be nice to have some input from KCDrumDad or mlayton on this.

Re: Ludwig Tequila Sunrise 6 3/4x14 Snare

Hey Mark, I find it interesting that there appears to be two different badge placements. Two of the pictured drums have the grommet hole centered on the lugs and two have the grommet hole noticeably...

Re: What would be a good asking price?

Move ahead with the project, keep track of all your expenses, add on what you feel is an appropriate amount of profit and that's the price to ask. What kevins and the others are saying is you are...
