Re: Rack tom choke issue

This is a great solution that lets you dial in a good resonant sound. This guy designed the Atlas hardware for Ludwig and eventually left to start his own company. His drums have been getting rave...

Re: What do you think?

Honestly, I wasn't looking at it to purchase them, although the 11" tom would fit in with my 12" and 13" 40's Avalon Pearl toms. I've been buying these era L&L Avalon Pearl drums for a while piece...

What do you think?

What does everybody think? I'm thinking that this is way too much. I would put the bass drum at around $500 and the tom at around $200 - $250. It IS nice, but they're asking a little too much IMO....

This the kit that I was thinking on adding the extra rack tom to. This is my version of the Fred Young drum kit.

I recently acquired a WMP WFL 18x20 Floor Tom / Cocktail Tom / Bass Drum that is in very good - excellent condition. It has the two swing up cymbal holders and the three original legs as well. It...

Double Tom stand using twin snare baskets

I was wondering if anybody has tried to do this before and I figured this might be a great place to ask this question. I am putting together a 20's - 50's mahogany kit, which will be a mix of...

Re: Ludwig Blue Oyster "Bowling Ball" wrap

Here are the pictures sent to me from Bum Wrap. Although it's not "perfect", it looks fairly close to me and if the wrap seems to be quality, I will get some to try out. Keep in mind however, Bum...

Re: Ludwig Blue Oyster "Bowling Ball" wrap

I did contact them and I'm in the process of ordering a sample. It looks like a close match in the picture, but I'd like to see it in person first. It wasn't shown on their website, but when I...

Re: Ludwig Blue Oyster "Bowling Ball" wrap

If you look on the Delmar site itself, it looks like the blue oyster / blue bowling ball wrap. That's why I mentioned the part number. I've attached a screenprint of Delmar's VF 1008. Judge for...

Re: Ludwig Blue Oyster "Bowling Ball" wrap

Okay, I've done some research and determined that Delmar makes a wrap that seems close. It is VF1008 on black. Has anybody on here used this wrap at all?

Re: How to repair an out-of-round shell?

Unfortunately it's out of round enough to prevent a head from fitting on it. I could live with it if the head was merely snug. On this shell, I couldn't even force a head to fit - it's that far out...

Re: How to repair an out-of-round shell?

Thanks for the suggestions. I agree that for $10 I have nothing to lose.

How to repair an out-of-round shell?

Over the weekend I came across a 14x26 Radio King bass drum shell in great condition excluding the finish, which was a little rough. It was missing the badge, but you can clearly tell by the outline...

Re: Late 30's/40's Ludwig and Ludwig

The kicks are 14x28 and 14x26. The toms are 8x12 and 9x13. The floors are both 14x16, but one of them sits in a modified snare stand basket as it never had legs (and I won't drill new holes). I...
