Slingerland 3 Ply No Re-Rings

Anyone have experience with these shells/drums? Maple/Poplar/Mahogany w/o reinforcement rings. Short lived before they went to the 5 ply version.

Great set! The 4 bolt tom rail on the bass drum and the L-arm and floor tom bracket on the 8x12 tom put this set in a very narrow time period. Don't have the info with me but I think we're talking...

Put the Classic Fit on a 14" Gretsch RB floor tom that had the "traditional" problem and it sounds like a different drum. Couldn't have asked for a better result in this case!

Copeland has been quoted as saying they found another example of his Pearl snare to use as a backup and it didn't equal the original so was never used.

Don't forget to duct tape a cushion to it...

I have an 8x12 tom and 12x14 converted marching snare like those. The tom is un-marked and the marching snare is a Bruno, both identical.

Apollo made the StarFinder kit using these shell as well...

An interesting point about the beginning of the Slingerland/Leedy era that I have observed: Some of the tom shells have the traditional Leedy thirty degree bearing edges. They must have been around...
