Re: Gene Krupa playing a Dynasonic?

Good eye Mark!
NOT just an illusion! LB had Rogers build him more than a few "experimental" custom models that were NOT available to the public. This is one of 'em! It is indeed a 4X14 wood...

Re: Slingerland Expertise Needed: Fair offer?

Mike!
Yes indeed ... Fred it was! I remember him playing these back in 1971 or so actually ... so he HAS had them since day one! I was playing drums for our HS Jazz Ensemble and we did a set for...

Re: Fibes Drums

JR!
Actually there is quite a bit on/about Fibes drums here! I have written a LOT as I've been playing them since 1973! My 1st set back in 1973 were the clear Fibes Crystalites, and since then I...

Re: No hole in the head for me!

Wayne!
Rest assured, NONE of my “micro ported” front/reso heads are the OEM’s! Those come off and are stored safely, and can be returned to the drum when desired! I also cut my own ports, so they...

Re: No hole in the head for me!

Wayne!
Doesn't have to be a "giant hole" at all! I know what you're sayin' too! .. but .. I play a LOT of concert theater's and/or outside shows with full sound, lights, and pro sound personnel. I...

Re: Remo Sparkletone heads?

Mike!
It is indeed a lighting type illusion issue. I have 5 more pics from this particular performance, all of them are in B&W, and whereas you CAN tell the front BD head is a Silver "Sparkletone",...

Re: Remo Sparkletone heads?

Jeff!
Correct! ... but the set of Rogers on the MD Show were not his drums of course, whereas the Trixon/VOX were his actual/regular touring set! I try to stay within the parameters of...

Re: New rogers dyno-matic pedal

Sean!
Ploughman has thoughtfully chimed in on the NEW Rogers Dynasonic .. and .. I have zero experience with them as I haven't grabbed one. I have two 60's era wood Dynasonics .. a 1967 and a 1968,...

Re: New rogers dyno-matic pedal

... actually more than a few years Sean, 1960 to 1967! My opinion, Buddy never sounded better than when he was with Rogers! Not his playing mind you, as THAT is an absolute, his sound. Had Rogers not...
