2-Ply Walnut Slingerland

I did some research and have come to the conclusion that the 30s era marching bass I got on EBay is not 3 ply mahogany, but 2 ply walnut with solid maple re-rings. It's big (12x26) but incredibly...

Re: Removing Tom Mounts

Just got my early 70's 3 ply Slingerlands in WMP. I'm going to put the rack tom (either 13 or 14) in a snare stand. Would you remove the tom mount and bass drum bracket and deal with the holes...

Re: "Thunder from Downunder"

Amazing! However, those 2 black toms just distract from the beauty of this kit. I would remove them.

Need a little help here, before I go speding $. What top and bottom heads would you recommend for a vintage sound, but that will also project (unmiked), when tuned up high?

Re: 3 Ply Slingerlands

I don't have tom mics when I play out, but I don't play huge rooms...hopefully they project enough for the 2 vocal mics to pick up.
