Re: Sonor Teardrop 2

Congrats, Johnnyringo. George is correct about the dating. My kit - I posted a pic in your previous topic - is late 1950s. The lugs are different from yours, the badges and the tom mount. In fact, I...

Re: Sonor Teardrop

I see...

Beautiful drums, George, thanks for sharing. Funny looking lugs, though! A bit like the old Premiers.

Re: Sonor Teardrop

Re: Sonor Teardrop

The finish is called Kristall (in the German 1963 Sonor catalog (http://www.sonormuseum.com/1963-64/index.html)). Originally, it has been silver and black stripes. With age, it fades like this,...

Re: Wet sanding to remove paint from WMP

No success with the 3M product. 3M Sweden just told me that they don't offer this product in Sweden, nor do they find it anywhere else at the moment, including the US...

Re: Wet sanding to remove paint from WMP

I've e-mailed 3M in Sweden (where I live) and asked about this product. Fingers crossed now, for its availability in the EU.

Best,

Wet sanding to remove paint from WMP

About 5 years ago, I bought an early 1960s Gretsch RB kit in 12, 14 and 20. Those are nice sizes, yes, and the kit sounds fabulous. However, somewhere down the line it has been painted maroon....

Thanks, radioking, that is a very useful link. I will have a close look at the (very long) video and try to fix my pedal.

Re: How Do You Restore A Speed King
