Those were cherry/gumwood made overseas, totally different than the newer Club Dates.

Has anyone played one of these kits? I think they are 2ply maple, 3ply poplar and 2ply maple with rounded over edges. They have the Imperial lugs, made in Monroe, North Carolina.

I only said that Buddy was my favorite drumner, it had nothing with the R&R Hall of fame.
Btw, a good drummer doesn't rely on how many drums he has to be creative.

Thanks Tommp! I suspected that about his toms, sometimes they sounded low and muddy and other times they were pitched up. You mentioned he payed attention to his kick, do you know how it was tuned?...
