Re: Black Beauty at auction

The drum went for $1500 which is a fair market value for the 20's snare engraved like that. It was in fantastic condition other than the torn resonant side calf skin head.

A beautiful kit! I love W&A drums. Unique company and the way they approached drum building. Good luck with the kit

Re: Peter Tork's Passing

I remember watching the show and playing my drums along to the music. He was definitely the "comic relief" of the group and you could tell he knew how to play !

Re: In-Lay Adhesive

Fully agree with Mr Layton
I buy it by the roll from H-Depot in the carpet section. Thin, transparent and adheres very well. Careful not to buy the one with the threaded cord.

Always wanted one of these kits. Unfortunately no space for it right now. And it's actually at a good price compared to others I have seen.

Re: Which Trade Would You Take

Agree with DFX - I'd keep the Ludwig kit.
While I am a Gretsch guy, the kit being offered (IMHO) isn't comparable and you may hunt for a while for matching wraps to complete the Rogers kit.
If...

Re: Correct Tone Control

Agree with Mark.
That type of set up is typically the BB muffler. Even some of the setups just after this when they went to the knob style has the larger hole at the top but wouldnít fit the BB...

Test to see the effect of the sun on wraps

Everyone knows that besides smoke, the sun is one of the worst enemies for a drum wrap.
