Different Models of Ludwig 1400 Stands

I use two different models of the Ludwig 1400 flat base cymbal stand. Both have the tear drop shaped tilter. One secures the legs to the bottom tube by using a wing bolt attached to a collar....

Could it possibly be the hinge rattling? If so, Purdie Shuffle offered a similar solution for an external muffler (I think) a couple of years ago. Dental floss wrapped around the rivets! Not my idea...
