Re: 61' Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl (Pre-serial Keystone)

Well stated Hobbs. An unfortunate misunderstanding. Don't know either member but Verminator was extremely helpful to me some years ago, OK in my book.

Re: School closing/ dumpster save Dean finds a circa 1938 Sling Radio King almost

It is a 3-ply shell. How about a picture of the strainer/butt mounting holes? Diameter is 14" or 15"?

Re: Slingerland White Satin Flame

Good buy AlloyBoy. Serials suggest '71. Per Dr CJ Wenk shell interiors could be clear maple or "chocolate milk" stained in '70 and '71. As the others have stated the white interior is not original.

Re: Slingerland snare drum ID

According to Dr CJ Wenk the 3-ply ringless shell did not appear till mid '81 and the serial on this drum is 100,000 higher than what would be expected for a 1980 model. The last Niles drums in '86...

Re: Slingerland snare drum ID

Badge and serial are from the end of the Niles era (mid eighties). 5-ply shell without re-rings would be the norm. Two thick plies and three thin. Thin plies on outsides and middle. You're...

Re: Slingerland Drum research, help!

Welcome to the forum. You have heard from two of the best here. Serials suggest second half of '70 on the three WMP drums and '71 on the snare. Just for fun I'm going with this being a Krupa 1N...

Nice job tracking down those extra pieces. Vintage stands and spur should not be too hard to find. Post a picture when you get it all set up.

Re: Slingerland Black Diamond Pearl

Wood snare would have been available as an option with your kit. Having a correct wood snare should increase the value of your set over the Krupa COB. You will want to find a #153 Artist snare in...

Re: 1966 Slingerland "Modern Solo # 2R" Outfit

The lack of interest is mostly indicative of the overall lethargic Slingerland market. Your kit in particular will also be held back by the burn damage on the BD and the modifications to the snare. ...
