Re: Ludwig snare input please

I have the 6.5" version of that snare in the natural maple exterior with a Keystone (Chicago) badge and the longer lugs. I'm not sure of the year.

As I recall, the 6.5" was called "Rock" and the...

Re: Ludwig snare input please

I believe that is either a "Concert" or "Rock Concert" model.

Re: Offset Shield-Shaped Lugs on mystery snare

Re: Anyone know what kit this is?

I thought I remember at least one MIJ Sonor clone that used slotted tension rods but also had Sonor teardrop style lugs. The kit pictured here doesn't have any other Sonor-like hardware though. It...

Re: Anyone know what kit this is?

The second pic shows a slotted tension Rod which is not typical of MIJ kits. Do all the toms have those?

Re: Dixon snare drum

Interestingly, that's the same throw off and butt end as an early version Pearl Free Floater.

Re: Black Drum Rack

IMO, the clamps and memory locks would eventually create marks and/or scratches in a black finish. Chrome is very resistant to marring.

Re: Identification of bass drum pedal

In the second photo you'll notice a small round adjuster (it looks a little rusty) at the bottom of the upright post. I'd guess there is some type of spring in the pedestal that supports the upright...

Re: weird MIJ snare ?

Are the tabs on snare wires marked on either side? That might provide a clue if they're original.

Re: Are these really Imperialstar Shells?

There was a line of Imperialstars that had exterior and interior finishes like the one in your pics. The badge grommet looks original. They called the wood finish Cordia.

Re: Cymbal Stand ID???

I was going to say that the large wing nuts look similar to the ones on my Sonor Performer stands. Hohner was the Sonor distributor so possibly there is some connection.

The lug distance from the hoop on the small tom is shorter than on the other two toms plus it does not have rerings suggesting it was an orphan rebuilt in an attempt to match the others. The painted...
