Over here in the Uk you can pick up Premier Or Olympic drums Birch or Mahogany really cheap. I have lots of various premier and Olympic drums, kits and snare drums. Unless in tip top condition...

As for the rod being straightened vice excellent choice. The snare head I use on my wood carlton is original calf head on the COB is an ever play by premier which gives lots of clearance for the drum...

Definitely Olympic discus. They didn't put a badge on outer of shell, it has an internal stamp. You can see the stamp on inside of shell. Looks like damper is missing but has original beer tap...
