    I actually considered that. I used an old (fairly well used) set of Puresound Blasters. I believe they are 20 strand. Now that I think of it, something did look a little odd with the way the end tabs sat on the reso head. I think I'll swing by my local music store and grab a set of Fat Cat 16s. That's what I have on several of my other snares, with great results.

    It is not your throw off. What snare wires do you have on the drum? They have narrow beds and should have a set of 12 strand or perhaps 16 strand wires.
