Thanks Mark, I saw these on reverb and eBay. Talked to the guy that owns them, they are in OK shape, no snare. He was original wanting 1100. But that a bit to much. I do some research in my slingerland book, and as you said it was more for promotional purpose. They are cool looking but scared of the finish. I wish back a year or so ago when the orange pearl was for sale I would have gotten them, but that's the way it is. Thanks for your advise, we will be talking. Hope all is well with you. Still have your purple Slingerlands? Bucky

    Hi Bucky,

I hope your health issues are better. About that 51N in Blue Denim. As an investment...NO. Yes, these kit are rare, but only because they weren't that popular. As a cultural statement, I'd say it's a cool kit! Slinglerland wasn't afraid to try new things! Condition is everything. What condition is the kit that you are considering? I've seen a few of these kits over the years, but most were not in the best shape. The only kit I saved pictures of, sold in November 2008, for $800. It was in really great condition. Larger rock sizes of 9x13, 10x14, 16x18 floor tom and a 14x24 bass drum. There was also an Artist snare drum that sold for $355 in February, 2008. So, again, if you like the kit for personal reasons, go for it. As an investment...not so much!
